MORE Daily Bulletin January 14, 2022

  • UFT members at Gregorio Luperón High School in Washington Heights sent a collective letter to Michael Mulgrew demanding  “that the UFT step up to keep our members and our school community” safe and advocate for universal weekly testing of all staff and students in school and a clear threshold of positive COVID cases to close individual schools. The letter was signed by 35 UFT members, representing the vast majority of the chapter.
  • UFT Chapter Members in District 4 have written an open letter to Michael Mulgrew and the Unity Caucus's Leadership to protest the UFT's lack of Covid safety advocacy on behalf of members and families.
  • 29 UFT members at The Clinton School filed a joint grievance over inadequate COVID testing.
  • Several UFT members in District 15 are collecting signatures on this letter of protest.

MORE is running in the 2022 UFT elections as part of the United For Change slate. We want a union that will mobilize our members to protect our rights. See the UFC press release here.
